I currently have a 110v air compressor controlled by a 110v switch (on / off) I am upgrading my compressor to a 220v unit (20 v) and want to be able to turn the new air compressor on / off with a 110v switch. Can it be done?
Thanks, Terry

No you can not. For a 220 you’ll need a two pole switch. This way both hot leads get turned off.
